We all love a great tote bag. It is our carry-all; where we put everything we need. We think it's okay to be a little "extra" and carry one that has an awesomely modern patchwork pocket on the front, as well. If you're gonna carry it, you might as well do it in style!
The design elements for this bag are inspired by the tutorial from Emily Van Hoff. While the finished bag you make will not be an exact duplicate of her design, you'll be able to choose from pre-cut pieces to create your patchwork pocket, or cut on-hand fabric during the course of the workshop. Either way, this bag will be all yours in style and personality.
By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with one finished (and completely lovely) large tote bag, with an incredibly colorful pocket on the front. For those who need a little additional help, we'll have completed totes on hand so everyone leaves with a finished tote.
While simple sewing knowledge is needed in this class, both beginners and advanced sewers are welcome. We'll provide the material for your tote (canvas/duck cloth), as well as the patchwork pieces, but feel free to bring your own. The first part of our time together will be designing and constructing the pocket, and then we'll move on to constructing your tote.
WHAT TO BRING TO THE WORKSHOP:
Interfacing, fusing, and all other supplies will be provided.
MANDATORY PRE-REQUISITE:
To join us for this workshop, you must have taken our Intro to the Sewing Machine workshop, or have knowledge on how to properly thread a machine AND spool a bobbin on your own. Experience sewing accessories is a plus, but is not required.
NO NEED TO BRING YOUR MACHINE! In all bee creative workshops, you'll use our Brother sewing machines to complete your wares (we love our Brother sewing machines.... Great starter machines for all).
