The creation of jewelry comes in many forms: machine fabrication, assemblage, hand-forming, and soldering, just to name a few. Jewelry that is made by hand-forging has the sophisticated look of a hand-soldered piece, but is made with no heat at all. A hammer, mallet, steel block, and some ingenuity is all you need to create fabulous pieces.
In this workshop, you'll fabricate several pair of hammered earrings that are minimalist, light, modern and very high on style. We'll use hypo-allergenic, non-nickel brass components for you to create beautiful pieces that you can rock each and every day. You'll also learn how to affix beautiful faceted gemstones (of which we'll have a large array on-hand) to give your earrings that extra "umph," if you so please. Whether adorned or starkly modern, big or small, these will be the pieces you wear every day.
