Are you ready to delve into making awesome machine-sewn items for your home? We certainly think you are!
Even if you've never tackled housewares or décor on the sewing machine, we promise you'll be a pro in no time, and will be whipping out modern, weighted, lined, ready-to-be-hung panel curtains for every window in your home.
Because we have limited time to teach you how to make your panels, we'll be focusing on panels that are a standard 60 inches in length (can vary slightly based on the length of your windows), and will create two lined panels during the course of the workshop.
You'll learn how to measure and add proper allowance to your curtain panels before sewing, how to measure and prepare your lining for your curtain length, how to sew panels that mimic pleated curtains (but allow you to use MUCH less fabric), the proper way to add your lining to your sewn panels, adding drapery weights to your sewn panels, and how to apply clip-on drapery hooks to easily add to any rod.
While simple sewing knowledge is helpful in this class, both beginners - who have taken the Intro to the Sewing Machine workshop with us, or have prior sewing knowledge - and advanced sewers are welcome. Because this is not an Intro to the Sewing Machine class, each attendee must know how to spool a bobbin and properly thread a machine without assistance. WHAT TO BRING TO THE WORKSHOP:
3 Yards of Fabric (we'll use a little over 2, but bring 3 in case of any hiccups)
May be upholstery fabric, but does not need to be. Can be a broadcloth or quilting cotton as you learn, as well.
As always, we recommend Fine Fabrics in Atlanta, GA for bulk yardage purchases.
NO NEED TO BRING YOUR MACHINE! In all bee creative workshops, you'll use our Brother sewing machines to complete your wares (we love our Brother machines.... Great starter machines for all).
