Eco Jewelry 101 - Stacked Upcycled Paper Earrings

Instructor: Malene Davis
Length:  2 hours
Minimum Age: 12+
Minimum Enrollment:

Maximum Enrollment:  15 students

We love us some paper. All kinds of paper. Bright, muted, mid-century inspired, gold inlayed, you name it, we have it.  The best part?  We can stack that paper, with a little adhesive, into forms that allow us to create beautiful, super lightweight, wearable jewelry.  It's eco-friendly, earth-happy, and allows you to express yourself by adorning that paper with stamps, acrylic marker pens, and a little ingenuity.

In this workshop, you'll have time to fabricate as many pairs of durable, stacked paper earrings allowed.  You'll begin by sorting through our stacks and stacks (and stacks) of paper, choosing your favorite designs and patterns.  We'll walk through the process of layering your earrings to fortify them and make them strong, will glue those pieces together, and then will use rotary sanders to shape them appropriately prior to adding findings.  Our last step is to use an epoxy to further stabilize your new favorite earrings, allowing for years and years of lightweight, eco-friendly wear.
