Sewing 102 - The Easy Kimono

Hey, you CAN sew.  Once you've made your first successful item on the sewing machine, you'll be ready to tackle it all.  In this workshop, you'll learn to sew a super easy kimono that can be worn year-around, and will definitely be a closet favorite to every outfit in no time.   

While simple sewing knowledge is helpful in this class, beginners and advanced sewers are welcome.  Patterns and step-by-step guides will be on-hand, and your instructor will be there to walk you through individual steps if you need advanced guidance.  Because this is not an Intro to the Sewing Machine class, each attendee must know how to spool a bobbin and properly thread a machine.  

WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS: 

• 1.5-2 YARDS OF FABRIC
• FABRIC SHOULD HAVE SOME "DRAPE", MEANING IT MOVES AND HAS NATURAL FLOW.
• SOFT COTTON, COTTON LAWN, VICOSE, AND RAYON BLENDS ARE GOOD, AFFORDABLE OPTIONS TO LEARN ON. DO NOT PURCHASE A MATERIAL WITH STRETCH.
• IF A NOVICE, PRACTICING WITH A FLAT SHEET IS ALWAYS A GREAT OPTION, AS WELL. 
• QUILTING COTTON NOT RECOMMENDED DUE TO STIFFNESS.
• ALL OTHER MATERIALS WILL BE PROVIDED IN THE WORKSHOP. 

MANDATORY PRE-REQUISITE:  
To join us for this workshop, you must have taken our Intro to the Sewing Machine workshop, or have knowledge on how to properly thread a machine AND spool a bobbin.  NO FUNDAMENTAL SEWING WILL BE TAUGHT IN THIS COURSE, SO PLEASE BE SURE YOU KNOW HOW TO NAVIGATE AN ENTRY-LEVEL MACHINE BEFORE REGISTERING. 

NO NEED TO BRING YOUR MACHINE!  In all bee creative workshops, you'll use our Brother sewing machines to complete your wares.
