Are you a scrapbooker? A person who loves vintage stylings? A person who loves reading, writing, quotes? A person who loves to work with your hands to create something by layering? If any of that is you, this class is going to give you all of your favorite things to do, and much, much more.
Ephemera is defined as collectible items used in everyday use, but those that are not meant to be kept long. In paper goods art, the use of Ephemera involves taking something that is not valuable in our everyday life, and layering it with other elements to make it something truly special. What we love about this art is that you will go as far as your creativity allows you to go, and sky's the limit here.
We'll begin by selecting a wide variety of items including pre-cut ephemera, and have plenty on hand for you to select on your own. We'll have lots of typewritten text, words, phrases, birds, butterflies, vintage photos, and antique-styled backgrounds for you to build your special creation. You'll learn the tricks of the trade with a small piece at the start of the workshop, and once done, you'll have time to create as many wonderful pieces as you can as you work your way up to your main art piece.
We'll also have on hand cards for you to make stationery, bookmarks, wood pieces of various shapes and sizes on which you can build, and jotters for you to create wonderful vintage (or modern) inspired works. We promise the hardest part will be selecting what to place onto your pieces to create your art.
By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with several small pieces of one-of-a-kind art and small tangibles to call your own.
