Sewing 102 :: The Cork-Bottom Zipper Pouch

Everyone - and we mean EVERYONE - needs a cute carry pouch.  Whether it's a clutch for the lady, an i-pad case for the gent, or a pencil case for the kiddies, you may be surprised to learn that all of these items come from the same fundamental shape.  In this 1.5-2 hour workshop, we're going to teach you how to make easy zipper pouches of all shapes, sizes and colors, and will make it extra special by including a cork detail on the bottom of the pouch.   In the workshop, you'll learn how to prepare, stabilize and treat cork leather and add it to your pouch in two different ways (1 pouch across the bottom and 1 pouch with cork leather on each corner of the pouch).

While simple sewing knowledge is helpful in this class, both beginners and advanced sewers are welcome.  Step-by-step guides will be on-hand, and your instructor will be there to walk you through individual steps if you need advanced guidance.  Because this is not an Intro to the Sewing Machine class, each attendee must know how to spool a bobbin and properly thread a machine.   By the end of the workshop, you'll go home with 2 (or more) new zipper pouches to call your own.

All materials are provided in the cost of the workshop, but you are welcome to bring along fabric of your own.

To join us for this workshop, you must have taken our Intro to the Sewing Machine or have knowledge on how to properly thread a machine and spool a bobbin.  NO FUNDAMENTAL SEWING WILL BE TAUGHT IN THIS COURSE, SO PLEASE BE SURE YOU KNOW HOW TO NAVIGATE AN ENTRY-LEVEL MACHINEBEFORE REGISTERING.

NO NEED TO BRING YOUR MACHINE!  In all bee creative workshops, you'll use our Brother sewing machines to complete your wares.
