Lady's cornbread recipe was created in 1985 for the sole purpose to compliment Causey's ribs and pulled pork in BBQ cooking competitions. There were times when the ribs and pulled pork would grab first place ribbons but we joked that it was really Lady's cornbread that won over the judges.
This cornbread mix is so versatile it can be used as a staple in your kitchen or, as a great southern gesture, to give as a gift.
Causey's has partnered with a Georgia Grist Mill to grind white cornmeal into a silky, fine texture which is the secret component that makes Lady's cornbread so moist.
Our mixture makes 1 - 9x9 dish or doubled will make 1 - 11x15.

Fine ground cornmeal (aka: corn flour) from whole kernel corn with the "germ" or "heart" in tack, this cornmeal has a rich or intense whole grain flavor. It's perfect for breading meats and vegetables and can be used to make Lady's Cornbread which is a more cake like cornbread.
