Every year, no matter the fashion and accessories trends, it seems that gold earrings never go out of style. Slap a broilette-wrapped gem on them, and they make the perfect statement. In this workshop, you get the best of all worlds.
In one session, you will learn how to use brass wire, an in-house made flux, paste solder, and findings to create several pair of beautiful earrings that you will be happy to wear, day in and day out.
The versatility of soldered earrings are endless. With a solid technique, you can change the shape (want round? Sure! Geometric? Done! Triangular? Yup! Abstract? Of course!), size, and material of your hoop earrings to create a selection that will go with your entire wardrobe.
Additionally, we're going to do a little wire-work in this class by learning how to properly wrap a top-drilled gemstone to create a broilette to put on our finished earrings. This is a skill that you'll use again and again in jewelry making.
By the end of the workshop, each participant will go home with several pairs of brass, hand-forged, beautifully soldered earrings to call her or his own.
Each workshop is approximately 2.5 hours long. All materials included.
