Artisan Foods - Sweet & Savory Jams
In this 1.5 hour class, you will learn how to make TWO homemade jam preserves from old recipes that embraces simplicity and patience. After our batches are finished and cooling, you will learn the basics of canning in order to can your own jar of jam to take home with you. At the end of the hour, you will not only have canned jars of jam, but also the knowledge and skills to make and can your own jams at home. Just in time for a sweet summer harvest, come learn how to turn a basket of berries, fruits and vegetables into fresh sweet and savory jam to enjoy now, or preserve for the winter months.
Go home with 2-3 jars the following finished jams (one sweet choice and one savory):
- Strawberry Jam
- Hot pepper Jam or Peach/Savory Jam
All tools and materials are provided. Class will be 1 - 1.5 hours based on the speed and experience of our canners.
Optional: bring your own apron and/or cocktails of your choice.
Our evening sessions are "sipping sessions," so 21 and up only is advised. Red and white wine is provided.
